Post Card Gallery Wall Art

It is no secret that we love to travel.  My husband started planning our next vacation during our last vacation, we love traveling that much. When it comes to souvenirs, I try to keep it simple. The more I travel the less I want to carry.  I used to collect picture frames from my travels but last year during our euro trip I decided to only get post cards. Now my favorite thing to look for and buy on our trips are post cards.  I'm not talking about your typical souvenir store tacky, overly designed, touristic post cards. No, Im talking about the one of a kind, artistic post cards. When selecting my post card I look for one or more of the following characteristics:

-creative photography

-creative graphic design

- colorful designs

-historic photography

-local events memorabilia

-abstract art

- watercolors

- local artists

After last summer trip I was having the post travel blues and decided to make a gallery wall art with some of my post cards. Every time I looked at them I was reminded  of the great memories we had.  I believe that beautiful post cards are an inexpensive piece of art to remember your trip by while also supporting local artists.

I just hope that I'm able to continue to expand our post card gallery! What about you, do you collect any travel souvenirs? how do you display them? do tell!
